If you are a lawn maintenance contractor, you know all too well the importance of a truck mounted leaf vac.  If you have a large leaf clean up project, you can shave off quite a bit of time loading leaves with a truck mounted leaf vac.  There are only a hand full of companies that produce truck mounted leaf vac units.  Choosing the right unit is important because there is quite a bit of price difference between the units.  Most entry-level truck mounted leaf vac units come with a minimum 13 HP motor.  It is important to purchase a unit that has enough power because you will probably be sucking up wet or compacted leaves.

Billy Goat and Little Wonder both produce debris loaders.  Little Wonder’s product are generally a few hundred bucks more than that of Billy Goat.  Both companies produce great units and it is really consumer preference on which brand to go with.  Most all truck mounted leaf vac units operate the same way.  There is a debris tube that connects near the impeller by the motor.  When the unit is engaged, the impeller spins and causes a vacuum on the end of the debris tube.  Debris is sucked from the operators end, through the spinning impeller blades and through a disbursement chute.  The disbursement chute delivers the finely chopped leaves to the back of your truck or trailer.
