Since Thanksgiving is over, it is time to start thinking about choosing the best Christmas tree for your home.  There are lots of evergreens to choose from when selecting a Christmas tree.  Different trees offer different needles and density.  In order to choose the best Christmas tree for your home, consider the following tree varieties.

Best Christmas Tree

Best Christmas tree varieties.

Balsam Fir–  The needles of the Balsam Fur tree are about 3/4 inch up to 1 1/2 inches long.  The needles exhibit a solid green color and have rounded tips.  This tree is very fragrant and makes one of the best Christmas trees.

Douglas Fir–  Great evergreen tree with needles about one inch long with rounded tips.  This fragrant evergreen grows in a pyramidal form.

Fraser Fir-  This evergreen exhibits dark green needles.  This pyramidal growing evergreen has strong branches.

Noble Fir-  This evergreen has shiny, dark green needles that are blueish in appearance.  The stiff branches work well for hanging heavy Christmas ornaments.

Scotch Pine–  Scotch pine is one of the most commonly found Christmas trees.  This is one of the best Christmas trees to use because it has stiff branches to hold heavy ornaments.  This tree can hold on to its needles for over three weeks if the tree is watered on a regular basis.  It has a great fragrant pine scent that can be smelt for several weeks after its installation.

White Pine–  White pine has long thin needles that cover the trees branches.  These needles can reach up to five inches long.  They are soft to the touch because they are thinner than other pine trees needles.  Commonly found throughout the United States, this native tree decorates the holiday season well.  This pine has little or no fragrance.

Norway Spruce  Norway spruce exhibits small, very stiff needles that reach up to 1 inch long.  This tree has a strong fragrance, but it may lose its needles quickly if the tree is not properly cared for.
