Winter is around the corner and it is a perfect time to start thinking about snow plows.  Boss makes great professional snow plows for the snow removal contractor.  There is steel or poly options available for your snow plow needs.  The most productive plows in the market are V snow plows.  Straight plows only allow you to plow forward or wind row to the right or left.  V snow plows allow you to scoop snow when you V up and break through drifts when you V back.  Having a V plow allows you to clean up snow tails in a short amount of time.  Straight plows tend to spill over the edges when they are full.  Adding wings to your V plow will allow you to push more snow, while at the same time minimizing spill over.

When you choose a plow, it is important to select a product that will meet your needs.  If you are only doing small lots, you may be better off with a 8′ 2″ straight plow.  If you are plowing large lots you will probably want to go with a 9′ 2″ with wings.  The type of truck that you are mounting the blade on as well as the size of the truck should also determine what plow you choose.  Some trucks are equipped with plow packages, which are ideal if you are planning on plowing with your truck.

We recommend the following Boss snow plows.

9′ 2″ Power V Boss snow plow- This is a great plow for the snow removal professional.  This plow is now overly wide, but will still plow quite a bit of snow.  This plow works well on Ford F 250 series and up trucks.  Add wings for additional clearing capacity.

9′ 2″ Power V XT Boss snow plow- This plow is almost exactly like the regular power V plow, the only major difference is the outer wing height.  The outside edges of the wings are higher than the inside of the wings, allowing the operator to push more snow.  The larger wing height also cuts down on snow spillage.  Don’t forget your snow de-flector for the front of your plow.  Snow de-flector’s will greatly minimize snow flying up from your plow on to your windshield.
