Every landscape professional should have a chainsaw in their arsenal.  Regardless if you are in the tree removal business or not, you will definitely find a use for a quality chainsaw now and again.  Our landscape crews us a chainsaw on a regular basis.  If you are removing overgrown plant material from a landscape bed, a quality chainsaw will become your new best friend.  Cutting some branches off of the plant will allow you to get close to the stump.  It is much easier to dig out a stump of a plant if you are to have the entire stump exposed.  Chainsaw’s may also be used to cut low-lying branches off of trees or other plant material.

Quality Chainsaw Products

When you are choosing a quality chainsaw, there are a few things that you should look for.  The size of the chainsaw should be based on what you are cutting and how well you are able to control the unit.  If you are doing small touch up work or landscape jobs, then you might want to opt for a smaller unit with a shorter bar.  If you are going to be cutting some serious trees, then you want to make sure that you choose a unit large enough to handle the job.  Some of the quality chainsaw units that we recommend are listed below.

Stihl MS 201 T–  This is a great compact unit for landscape professionals or arborists.  The small bar size combined with sufficient power makes this unit extremely productive.

Stilh MS 362- This is a great mid-range unit.  Small enough to do light work and large enough to cut down good-sized trees.  This unit is a good all around choice for the landscaper or home owner.

Echo CS 450P–  This is a decent mid ranged unit that should be able to handle your average tree.  This unit can be equipped with a 16″, 18″ or 20″ bar.

Husqvarna 346 X-  Decent unit for the price.  This unit has pretty good product reviews online.  Should be able to handle most trees with this size unit.
